James Rice is an artist, designer and storyteller from St. Helens currently based in West London, who focuses on showcasing forgotten communities within society through conversation, collaboration and making. 

His work has been exhibited at the ‘South London Gallery’ for the “Who’s on it?” exhibition, the ‘Truman Brewery, Brick Lane’ for the “UAL Origins 2022” just to name a few.

He has worked for the likes of British Vogue in 2021 creating graphic templates for physical prints that are still used to this day and UEFA creating graphics for football teams including Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and many more with both printed matter and on screens inside and out of stadiums, with his work being viewed over one million times. 

He specialises in Graphic Design, Publication Design, Photography, Visual Communication, Writing and Printmaking.

James heavily follows themes of Family, Nostalgia, Mental Health, Childhood, his Working Class Background. Usually with links to his background in Fashion image making and styling.  

James is currently enrolled at the University of the Arts London (UAL), studying BA (Hons) Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins. He is also employed at Tate where he has been a Visitor Engagement Assistant since June 2023, running Uniqlo X Tate workshops for families.
